Shmaya's uniqueness lies in our emphasis on mainstreaming our children into the general society. All of our children attend regular pre-schools and kindergartens, and later are integrated in regular classrooms.

Shmaya's staff is made up of a team of professionals who are specially trained to work with hearing-impaired people; Shemaya places a strong emphasis on developing the whole child---socially and personally, as well as academically.
For this purpose, Shmaya provides the following services:
- A day care center for hearing-impaired babies & children.
- Two pre-school facilities especially designed for hearing disabled children.
- Integration of hearing disabled children in regular pre-schools and grade schools together with the guidance and help required to deal with these children.
- Speech therapy
- Language classes for those children who need help in improving their
language skills
- Helping parents to deal with hearing implants both before and after the
operation.
- Psychological counseling
- Social workers
- Music therapy and therapy by occupation
- Afternoon rehabilitation clubs for different ages.
- Support groups for mothers.
- Professional lectures for parents.
