Our History and Progress
Matan-Arts has grown into a year-long program for youngsters 11-18. Today we have the summer camp, special workshops during spring and winter school vacations, regional youth orchestras and jazz ensembles, master classes, personal and group tutorials, and visits to a wide range of artistic and cultural venues. In its range and depth of programming for youth, Matan-Arts has come to be known as "the Israeli Interlochen". Each year, some 200 youngsters are chosen through auditions and personal interviews from a field of 1,500 candidates. Matan-Arts youngsters hail from every socioeconomic background, and reflect the diversity of Israel's ethnic landscape, as well as the breadth of its many communities, from the smallest villages to the large urban centers.
