Kol Ha-Isha (KHI) -The Jerusalem Women’s Center, founded in 1994, is a grassroots organization focused on empowering women - economically, emotionally, socially and politically.
Our mission is to develop and promote a feminist multicultural model of social change, empowering women from different, often marginalized, socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds, religious affiliations, nationalities and sexual orientations. KHI operates the only multicultural women's center in Jerusalem. Located in one of Israel's most economically challenged cities, the Center empowers women through a Comprehensive Program for the Economic Empowerment of Women, with both an employment option as well as a micro-business focus which includes a unique Community Kitchen social entrepreneurship project that trains women entrepreneurs in the culinary micro-business field; and a Crisis Counseling and Referral Center which provides responsive, empowering or supportive services to hundreds of women annually. In addition, KHI empowers women culturally through Antea - a feminist art gallery. KHI is also an active partner in various coalitions, speaking out publicly on issues of women’s rights
