Our History and Progress
The Amichai organization was founded in Hod Hasharon in 1994 by parents of children with disabilities for which no appropriate solution was found. The organization is a family focused organization that enables and encourages the family members to influence the course of action taken by the organization and its future plans. The humble beginning of operating one center for a few hours a week, led to the initiation of further projects, and to the expansion of the existing ones. The organization's activities were always supported by the Welfare Ministry in Israel, the Social Services department and with the continuous consulting and learning from different social organizations. Nowadays, the organization is well known, and its projects are deeply rooted in the community, and in fact has become a model for other organizations in many fields.
