The Benjamin Children’s Library & Learning Center (BCL) works to promote and be a model for quality, children/youth centered, hands-on, multi-disciplinary informal/leisure learning for children and youth in Beit Shemesh.

The Benjamin Children's Library was started as a grassroots, neighborhood organization, and is still run primarily by local volunteers. Its goal is to provide literacy services and programming for children, including many immigrants, particularly of Ethiopian background and other disadvantaged populations . The library functions as a community resource and as such is both aided and used in many ways.
