Our History and Progress
On August 1995, the Women's Crisis Shelter opened its doors in Haifa in response to the urgent need for additional shelter space with a multi-cultural staff including Jewish, Arab, and new immigrant women. Thus, the Shelter became the only facility of its kind in Israel to provide services to Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, Amharic, and English speaking women and children. In the beginning of 2006, we received confirmation that the Haifa Women's Crisis Shelter won a national tender by the Ministry of Social Affairs, for the operation of the only battered Women's Shelter for multi-cultural population in the next five years.
