FIDEL ("Alphabet" in Amharic) is Israel’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing educational and social support to Ethiopian-Israeli children, teens and parents across the country.

FIDEL reaches over 8,000 Ethiopian-Israeli children, teens and parents through the following programs:

• Youth Centers (located in underprivileged neighborhoods): after-school enrichment and school support with professional youth workers and volunteers serving as positive role models.

• School Mediators (in over 200 schools): working with parents, teachers and children closing educational and social gaps, fostering a supportive environment and overcoming cultural and social obstacles to success.

• High-Tech Leadership Program (7 groups): providing teens with the much-needed platform to develop leadership skills, receive one-on-one mentorship and take a leading role in social action projects in the community.

• Parents Groups: encouraging parents to be more involved in their children's education and bolstering their ability to communicate effectively with their children.
