ITIM is the leading advocacy organization working to build a Jewish and democratic Israel in which all Jews can lead full Jewish lives.
ITIM exposes, challenges, and improves government policies that deny Israelis the right to be officially recognized as Jews, to convert to Judaism, to marry as Jews, and to observe central Jewish lifecycle events. Through its activities at both the grassroots and public policy levels, ITIM is transforming Jewish life in Israel.

    Categories of Activities:
  • Co-Existence
  • Religion
  • Civil Liberties
  • Education
  • Judaism
  • Aid for the Needy

ITIM was established as a non-profit organization in 2002. Its Assistance Center helps 5,000 people each year resolve challenges to their Jewish identity caused by inequitable government policies and regulations. Its staff provide information, guidance, and support, free of charge, on every government-regulated issue of Jewish life—from birth to burial—with special expertise in matters of conversion and marriage. ITIM's Advocacy Center challenges the legality of discriminatory government policies, lobbies for regulatory reform, and promotes an inclusionary agenda. And ITIM's Independent Conversion Program, Giyur K'Halacha, is a network of independent rabbinical courts that carries out conversions according to Jewish law and free of government bureaucracy and discrimination.
