The Tamir Organization for Social Leadership is dedicated to transforming at-risk youth from Israel's northern peripheries into highly-educated, dedicated leaders of their former communities. Tamir effectively motivates at-risk youth from Israel's northern development towns to believe in themselves and succeed in building better lives. Following the program, our young adults decide to serve productively in the IDF and even continue on to higher education and break out of the self-defeating mentality in which they began.
This transformation occurs due to the program's synthesis of Judaic, empowerment and leadership values together with intensive community volunteering activity. Graduates of the program have been shown to be twice as likely to go to college, receive gainful employment, and build healthy, beautiful families.
