Kenafayim- Because Art Has No Boundaries, works to improve our artists self-esteem and status by helping them achieve independence and become productive active citizens in society.
Kenafayim runs programs for two different target groups:
1) Artists ) composers, painters, singers, sculptors, etc.) who struggle with mental health issues such as schizophrenia, clinical depression, and obsessive compulsive disorder. We empower these artists by offering a sheltered studio where they can focus exclusively on their work, benefit from one another’s company, be inspired to create, and slowly rehabilitate. These artists regularly perform and exhibit their work throughout Israel and abroad .
2 ) Actors with intellectual disabilities, including Downs’ Syndrome, autism, and various levels of mental retardation. This acting troupe performs an original play in well-known Israeli theater halls and festivals abroad .
