Maayan Babustan believes in the necessity of bi-lingual and multicultural education that fosters fosters true friendship, trust, and shared culture and language, as a bridge between the Arab and Jewish populations and as a pre-requisite for peace.
The kindergarten, which is based on the principles of the Waldorf educational approach, accepts both Arab and Jewish cultures equally. In order to create a peaceful reality, we feel that it is crucial that education from an early age fosters true friendship, trust and shared culture and language. Ein Bustan provides an opportunity for children of both peoples to get to know, respect and interact with each other. The children attending the kindergarten are ages 2-7, and come from the Jewish town of Kiryat Tivon, as well as the nearby Bedouin (Arab) villages of Hilf,Zarzir Zbidat and Bosmat Tab’un. Ein Bustan’s kindergarten activities are based on traditional arts and crafts, and the holidays and customs celebrated in both cultures.
