With the mission to raise environmental awareness and to promote sustainability, ECOWEEK organizes activity for young architects and designers, inspiring and training them to work with communities to benefit public institutions and the public domain.

ECOWEEK was established in 2005 in Greece and in Israel. ECOWEEK started out as a local community event on a Greek island aiming to raise issues of energy conservation and renewable energy, waste recycling and
composting, and green buildings. By 2008 ECOWEEK focused its activity in
organizing one-week international 'green' design workshops and
international conferences around the world. By 2013 ECOWEEK expanded
its activity to more than 15 countries and developed an international network
of members in 54 countries. ECOWEEK activity aims to inspire, educate and
train young architects, designers, landscape architects and engineers, to cooperate and learn from the local communities, to design innovative sustainable solutions within the urban context some of which are implemented. ECOWEEK promotes cooperation among young Israeli and
Palestinian architects and students of Architecture, and initiates projects that
promote sustainability in Israel and the West Bank.
