kumi uri's goal is aiding those suffering with Atopic Dermatitis along with their families. Our mission is to provide much needed councel, guidance and support in weathering the challenges brought upon by AD.

Caring for a child with AD requires special knowledge and resources to adapt to unique medical, environmental, and psychological needs. To help parents meet these needs, Kumi Uri provides the following services. • We have created a helpline for parents who seek guidance, advice, and education. • Personal meetings providing the above in a more individual and hands on approach. • Support groups for parents to meet others sharing similar struggles take place once a month in a few different venues. • A bi-monthly magazine that includes an “ask the professional” column, humor, allergy-free recipes, a parents’ forum, and more. • We are currently developing a website that will be a one-stop resource to access all of our services, contacts, and information, as well as an outlet to foster the bonding and growth of our unique community. • Volunteers are trained and matched with homes to help provide care and an extra hand to overworked parents. • Project “Eradicating the dustmite from the home”. Volunteers go to homes on a regular basis using professional equipment we provide, to help families create and maintain a dust free environment. • We organize weekend retreats that provide an emotional respite for parents and families as well. • We recognize that there is lack of awareness even within the medical community. To that end, we are active among medical professionals and providers in raising awareness of the special needs of children with AD. • Years of hands-on experience and documented medical research and studies have shown that a stay of 4 to 6 weeks in the remedial environment of the Swiss Alps town of Davos can have healing effects, and cause substantial relief to AD’s afflictions. With the encouragement of Dr. Moshe Rothschild, founder and director of Maynei Hayeshua Hospital in Bnei Berak, Kumi Uri established, recruited for and managed a summer camp “Or Chadash” for 45 children from Israel, New York City and England. Campers return home reinvigorated, with deep friendships and happy memories to help them travel the rough road ahead.
