The Canaan dog is the only national breed of the State of Israel known since Biblical times, and unfortunately, in recent years it has been disappearing from Israel because of Israel's systematic method which stems from its capture, being put into governmental shelters and low adoption rate.
The Canaan Dog Mixes are the most euthanized dogs in Israel.
Wings of Rescue Israel came up with a simple solution for the Canaan Dog Mixes. The dogs are taken out of governmental shelters and rehabilitated by special volunteers, trainers and foster families who are trained to do so.
Together with El Al Cargo, the Canaan Dog Mixes fly directly to their new families, where they enjoy a warm, loving and forever homes. In order to continue this operation, we will be happy to receive donations and foster families who are willing to open their homes to give these dogs a second chance.
