U.S. tax-deductible donating to Israel

IsraelGives.org partners with American Support for Israel (ASI), a US 501c3 public charity, dedicated to encouraging and enabling philathropy in the U.S. and in Israel.

Through this partnership, anytime you make a donation in U.S. dollars to an Israeli organization on the IsraelGives website, your donation will be U.S. tax-deductible. As soon as you make your donation, you'll receive a tax-deductible receipt by email from American Support for Israel, for the full amount of your donation.

You can also donate to an Israeli organization by check and by bank transfer. To donate by check, please mail your check to:

American Support for Israel
PO Box 3263
Washington, DC
20010

Donors must make the check out to "American Support for Israel" and indicate on the check itself in the "For" section the organization that you are designating the donation for. If possible, please write the organization's ID number (It appears on their profile page and begins with 580) instead of your organization’s name - it helps us to identify the organization more easily (some organizations have similar names, but all have unique ID numbers). For an example of how a properly prepared check should look like, click here.

Please note that you cannot donate to any of Israel's 27,000 non-profit organizations and receive a tax-deductible receipt. That's because organizations must meet American Support for Israel's criteria for support before they can qualify. How do you know if your donation will be tax-deductible? Simple: If an organization hasn't met our criteria for support, you won't be able to donate to it in U.S. dollars (all organizations to whom you can donate in U.S. dollars are US tax-deductible). For all other organizations, you are welcome to make a donation in Israeli Shekels - however, the donation will not be tax-deductible.
