Please help to save the restaurant for those in need

Since 1999, Be'er-sova has been fighting hunger throughout Be'er Sheva with various programs providing nutritional security to individuals and families. We have the only soup kitchen in Be'er Sheva and it is on the brink of closure due to a lack of grants/donations. The restaurant feeds hundreds of people every week and as the only soup kitchen here there is no other way to help the hungry. Most people think that a donation to a big organization helps all of Israel when in fact this is not the case. Be'er Sheva has one of the largest hunger needs in Israel. 1 in every 4 adults, 1 in 3 children and 1 in 3 older adults do not have daily food for themselves. The problem is that larger organizations do not reach Be'er Sheva and we are left with the load.

There are people starving in your own backyard

Our country has been here for 62 years. You would think that would be enough time to figure something out for the hungry. Unless the situation changes, more and more individuals and families will go hungry today.
Please help Be'er-Sova provide hot, nutritious meals. We have already lost so much time that we can never make it up. If we wait any longer the result may be irreversable. Just 50 cents a day will feed a hungry child.

The Restaurant for the Needy is Closing

The Restaurant for those in need was our first program. It was the only soup kitchen in Be'er Sheva and it was a place that over 100 individuals received their meals everyday. In light of the tough financial situation, our organization has made the decision to close the restaurant and serve the meals as take-away directly from the prep kitchen, (also in Be'er Sheva). It is a sad day as many of the volunteers had been volunteering there for 10 years. They considered it their job. Most of the recipients of our food security depended on the restaurant as a safe, friendly atmosphere where they could sit and eat in peace and quiet. There is a chance that with enough donations we will be able to renovate a location which is attached to out kitchen but until then, meals will be served from a window.
Our organization may be small but the hundreds of individuals and families who depend on us for their daily nutritional security shouldn't have to worry where their next meal comes from. It is up to all of us to help our fellow man/woman. We have Holocaust Victims who depend on us for their daily meals. We all have a responsibilty to help out. Please donate to our organization now. It only takes a minute and you'll be helping someone directly.

Be'er-Sova is the ONLY provider of daily food security in Be'er Sheva. Through our Meals-On-Wheels program for Holocaust Survivors, The Restaurant for the Needy (the ONLY soup kitchen in Be'er Sheva) and our food packages programs we are fortunate enough to provide hot, nutritious meals to hundreds of individuals and families every day. All donations are tax deducatible and directly assist the hungry throughout Be'er Sheva. Please open your hearts and help us help others.

Please help us provide food packages to hundreds of families in need throughout Be'er Sheva. Each year, Be'er-Sova distributes hundreds of food packages to families in need so they can celebrate Pesah with the respect every person deserves.
