Our History and Progress
Since its inception in 2003, Machshava Tova has founded eight community computer centers (seven in Jerusalem and one in Lod), initiated and operated three Mobile Computer Units (MCU) and helped more than 8,000 people learn essential computer literacy skills. MT has taught hundreds of courses, including: basic and advanced computer skills, website building, digital photography, animation, robotics, a computer technician course and many more.
In 2006, Machshava Tova launched Israel's first MCU- a self-contained, traveling computer center. The van, which stores 18 laptop computers, a wireless printer and projector, is capable of reaching all areas and populations in Israel. The computers are kept in sophisticated mobile charging units that ensure efficient high speed Internet access (through cell phones) and proficient workability. Today, MT has 3 MCU's in operation all over Israel. In 2008, one MCU traveled 20,000 km within Jerusalem alone and taught 1,000 people computer skills.
