ERAN’s service, provided in Hebrew, Arabic and Russian, serves the general Israeli population (youth, adults, seniors and Holocaust Survivors), is nationwide, not regional-specific, and is accessible and available to all sectors of the population. Services are provided by 1,600 strictly vetted and highly trained volunteers, from a wide range of professional backgrounds. Volunteers undergo a challenging selection process, followed by extensive training and on-going supervision by top specialists in the field of mental health and behavioral sciences and they are also trained towards specific demographic sectors, e.g. Holocaust Survivors, children & youth, IDF soldiers and their families, the elderly etc.
ERAN is also recognized as the National Suicide Hotline.
