Otot association takes care of housing at-risk boys and girls (separately) in "hostels" and dorms throughout the country that have been removed from their homes. Young people ages 13 -18 are referred by juvenile court or juvenile probation officer. Typical period of residence varies from a year to two years, or more. They are cared for by a team of qualified staff including a social worker. All boys and girls are enrolled in school or work according to their abilities and are offered recreational programming. After their time with us, many of the children are able to return to communities and normal lives joining the army and becoming productive competent members of society.
