The Zamarin Community Cent. in Zichron Yaakov has begun operating to support war relief efforts, in 2 fronts: Both by hosting and providing supplies to evacuees, and also by supporting the troops with donations of food, supplies, and equipment.

After Hamas’ brutal war on the state of Israel, initiated on Oct. 7th, we - the Zamarin Community Center in Zichron Yaakov, a rural town in the north of Israel, have begun operating to support war relief efforts, in 2 fronts: The first, by hosting and supporting evacuees and survivors of the brutal massacres, both from Israel’s northern and southern borders. Zichron Yaakov’s residents have opened up their homes to the evacuees, with the Zamarin center connecting evacuees and residents as well as sending volunteers to all evacuees to make sure all their needs are met. Right now, we are hosting approximately 1,300 evacuees in our small town, and continuing to find shelter for many more evacuees – mainly in residents’ homes, together with their families, as well as local hotels and B&Bs. Most of the evacuees fled their homes with very little supplies, equipment, and food, and as a result Zamarin has decided to fill the gap with donations – both financial donations as well as physical items and goods donated by residents and stored and distributed at the Zamarin center.
Additionally, we support the troops fighting for our country and protecting our citizens in the frontline – Israel was taken by surprise from the attack, and the troops have a major shortage of both food and supplies – causing civilian organizations, such as us, to fill the gap and protect those who protect us.
The donations of residents have already helped thousands of soldiers and evacuees, but their contributions are limited. As a result, we turn to your generosity to help us in defending the US’ closest ally – the only democracy in the middle east.
All the logistical work is done by volunteers from our community – high school students and retirees, working 14 hours a day each to make sure everyone stays safe as we go through this difficult time.
If you choose to donate, we will showcase our actions and activities on a weekly basis, including how many people (soldiers and civilians) we were able to help this week. On the next page, you can see examples of the amazing work our volunteers were able to accomplish in the last 2 weeks, with limited donations – imagine how much we could do with your help and contributions.
