The vision:
Creating a positive change in the quality of life of the hard of hearing and deaf in Israel, in general and in Arab society, in particular. Maintaining the rights of the deaf, in order to promote their integration into Arab and general society, by strengthening the self-confidence of the individual and developing personal leadership, maximizing and realizing the personal potential inherent in each of them in all areas of life. In addition, increasing and adjusting the accessibility of services and information, in terms of language and cultural adaptation to the Arab society in Israel, for all deaf and hard of hearing people in Israel.
The goals of Anssit:
The association has many goals, all of which revolve around the benefit of the deaf and hard of hearing community in various aspects, among these goals:
• Creating a suitable and safe environment
• Integrating people with disabilities into society
• Raising the awareness of the entire population to the "world of the other/disabled"
• Running educational programs and spreading information about the world of the deaf
• Professional training for people with disabilities and placement in respectful workplaces
• Concentration of the services to which the disabled are entitled in accessible centers
• Opening opportunities for integration at work
• Raising awareness of the rights of the deaf and hard of hearing community and help in realizing them
The most prominent projects and activities of the association:
• Operating community centers in several sites in Israel for the deaf and hard of hearing community. The centers are equipped with innovative tools and equipment, suitable for the needs of its members.
• Teaching sign language by deaf people to the hearing community throughout the country. Anssit considers teaching sign language one of its important humanitarian tasks, which involves raising public awareness towards the deaf and hard of hearing community.
• Conducting diverse courses and workshops for professional training of the deaf and hard of hearing in a number of diverse fields, among them: art, handicrafts, cooking, and various professions in the field of construction and mechanics.
• Organization of local and international leisure and cultural trips and tours to expose the deaf and hard of hearing to the world around them, as periodic trips are held for them in several areas.
• Organizing campaigns to raise awareness of the needs of the deaf and hard of hearing community in educational institutions.
• Conducting educational workshops by members of the deaf and hard of hearing community in schools.
• Holding an annual meeting for the members of the deaf and hard of hearing community from different regions of the country, which includes a social, cultural and entertainment programs.
• Holding educational courses in various fields related to the daily life of the deaf and hard of hearing community. Including: learning theory, learning different languages, energy sciences, photography and many others.
