ASH - the sports organization of the deaf was established in 1953 by a group of deaf people - immigrants and veterans, who were involved in unique sports activities for the deaf in Israel and Europe (see below the history chapter for more detail).
ASH currently has more than 400 deaf and hard-of-hearing athletes (as of 2014). Children, youth and adults who engage in all acceptable sports, and by the way influences the lifestyle of more than 7,000 deaf and hard-of-hearing people thanks to opening employment and leisure opportunities in the fields the sport.
ASH conducts activities for a wide variety of populations - Jews, Arabs, immigrants and veterans of all ages.
The value of sports for the life of the deaf is greater than for the hearing, because in addition to all the benefits inherent in sports for the hearing - engaging in sports for the deaf gives him a sense of belonging, meaning and connection to society.
