Since Ezrat Avot's founding in 1976, we have worked to relieve the poverty and loneliness of Jerusalem's elderly. Our Senior Citizen Center open to all Jerusalem's elderly, for free, provides food, enrichment classes and vital social services in a warm, culturally distinct environment. Ezrat Avot aims to empower the elderly and needy with basic tools of self-advocacy, believing that our seniors are entitled to ''age-in-place'' in dignity, within a supportive community structure. Recognizing this approach involves the entire community, Ezrat Avot's secondary goal is to bridge the generation gap, reconnecting our youth with the elderly through ''A Living Connection'',Israel's only comprehensive, intergenerational classroom-based program. Through our meals on wheels programme, delivering meals to all seniors and handicapped, homebound people in the Jerusalem are for free.
