Physicians for Human Rights Israel (PHRI) is a non-profit human rights organization that advocates for the right to health of all in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory.
PHRI's 3,400 members and volunteers engage in both direct medical assistance and advocacy to defend the health rights of vulnerable groups. Our target groups include: Residents of Israel, Palestinian residents of the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem; prisoners and detainees; refugees, asylum seekers, and migrant workers.

PHRI was founded in 1988 under the name: “The Union of Israeli and Palestinian Physicians” by a group of physicians deeply concerned by the systematic violation of health and human rights in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory. In 1992, following the Oslo Accords, our name was changed to Physicians for Human Rights Israel. Over the past 26 years, PHRI has been an outspoken leader in the struggle for human rights and social justice.
