Alnuhud", The Association for the promotion of Bedouin Women`s Education in the Negev, is a nonprofit, non-govermental organization (NGO), established in 1997 by Dr. Fatma Kassem and dedicated to promote education in general and higher education in particular among Arab Bedouin women. We believe that with higher education women can expand their opportunities to improve their lives, to strengthen their status in the community and to act as agents of social change in their society and in the general population. In order to enrich the education of Bedouin women we operate in the following channels: Increasing the availability and the chances of success of Bedouin women in the systems of higher education by academic, social and financial support; creating a change within the community concerning the right of Bedouin women to education and tightening the commitment of authorities to the education of Bedouin women.
