"Aharai!" has worked for 25+ years strengthening youth capabilities across Israeli society, focusing on geo-social peripheries to promote equal opportunities and mutual responsibility between different societal sectors.
The organization works to instill a sense of success and capability in youth, based on the belief that everyone has the ability to lead a normal and healthy lifestyle and be an equal citizen in the country, regardless of where they were born and the environment in which they grew up. "Aharai!" operates in 132 local authorities, 47 youth villages and youth care facilities, 72 ultra-Orthodox yeshivas, and runs 345 youth frameworks that serve as 'preparatory programs for adult life.' Most are three-year preparatory programs for youth aged 16-18 from all sectors of Israeli society, and some serve as post-high school gap year programs, pre-military academies, a program that integrates young people with special needs, and a preparatory program for young Arabs. "Aharai!" has an alumni organization that accompanies the 63,000 graduates of the organization along the way and assists in maximizing education and quality employment opportunities. Every year, the "Aharai!" movement brings thousands of young men and women into the heart of Israeli society as contributing citizens.
