The Kiryat Yam Municipal Conservatory which was founded in 1991, committed itself to be a center of culture and musical education at the highest level for the pupils of Kiryat Yam.
In the framework of the Conservatory, pupils are given lessons in wind and woodwind instruments, stringed instruments, percussion, piano, guitar and vocal. Altogether there are over 400 students at various levels benefiting from the musical facilities in the Conservatory
In the Conservatory there are five wind orchestras, two string orchestras and two choirs. Together with these orchestras there are several chamber music ensembles.Working closely with the Conservatory is the "Kiryat Yam Music Fund" association headed by Adv. Ben-Zion Malka. The aim of this association is to assist the Municipal Conservatory in all fields, in particular in raising money for the purpose of advancing both music and the welfare of the pupils in addition to developing the awareness of music amongst the youth.
