Maayan Babustan believes in the necessity of bi-lingual and multicultural education that fosters true friendship, trust, and shared culture and language, as a bridge between the Arab and Jewish populations and as a pre-requisite for peace.
The Ein Bustan class and kindergartens are based on the principles of the Waldorf educational approach, and
accept both Arab and Jewish cultures equally. In order to create a peaceful reality, we feel that it is crucial that education from an early age fosters true friendship, trust and shared culture and language. Ein Bustan provides an opportunity for children of both peoples to get to know, respect and interact with each other. The children attending Ein Bustan are ages 2-9, and come from the Jewish town of Kiryat Tivon, as well as the nearby Bedouin (Arab) villages of Hilf,Zarzir Zbidat and Bosmat Tab’un.
Ein Bustan’s
activities are based on traditional arts
and crafts, and the holidays and customs celebrated in both cultures. We put an emphasis on compassionate and non judgemental listening and see the instruction "love thy neighbor as theyself" and "seek peace and pursue it" not just as slogans but as guidelines to live by.

Ein Bustan was established by a group of Arab and Jewish parents that have been meeting regularly since January 2005. Together they founded a non-profit organization entitled "Maayan Babustan" and established the bi-lingual and multicultural kindergarten "Ein Bustan" (literally "Spring in the Garden").Ein Bustan aims to build a bridge between the Arab and Jewish population through a joint, multi-cultural educational setting based on the Waldorf approach, which stresses head, heart and hands.Ein Bustan’s kindergarten activities are based on traditional arts and crafts, and the holidays and customs celebrated in both cultures. In addition to running a joint kindergarten and preschool, Maayan Babustan initiates and encourages activities that promote dialogue and understanding between the Jewish and Arab communities that surround us, such as study groups, lectures and cultural events.
