Professional Union of Osteopathy in Israel

To promote the profession of osteopathy in Israel, to protect the population of patients and support osteopaths who are members of the association, as well as the following objectives: Promoting the profession of osteopathy in Israel: Exposing the public to the osteopathic treatment method by providing professional treatments, sharing knowledge and research. Promoting recognition by state institutions of the profession of osteopathy and recognized training institutions by the association, for the purpose of regulation and recognition of the osteopathic profession, which enables protection of the public from unauthorized practitioners. Supporting the establishment and operation of high-level training: Ensuring equality to international standards in training and practice of osteopathy as resulting from the adoption of the definitions of the European Society of Osteopathy and promoting the study of the profession toward academicization. Increasing exposure to the profession of osteopathy, for the benefit of the Israeli public including health funds and insurance companies. Encouraging cooperation between members of the Israeli association of osteopathy and organizations engaged in medicine in Israel, for the benefit of association members and patients. Maintaining professional and ethical standards of association members and at the same time serving as a address and response to ethical and professional issues for association members. Ensuring continuing professional programs for association members: Bringing lecturers from abroad, organizing study days, subsidizing study days for association members, publishing and promoting courses and study days on topics relevant to osteopathy. Setting clear standards for admission to membership in the association, through holding uniform certification exams for osteopathy schools in the country and clarifying the level of training of those who studied around the world and came or returned to Israel.
