The goal of Matnat Chaim – volunteers for kidney transplantation – is to encourage voluntary kidney donation and to make contact with potential matching recipients. All donations are purely voluntary.
*Matnat Chaim encourages family members and friends of kidney patients to donate organs to their loved ones. We holds parlor meetings and other gatherings to explain the process and to help motivate those closest to the patients to perform this act of kindness and compassion.
*Matnat Chaim looks for altruistic (non-directed volunteer) kidney donors for patients with no family members able to donate to them. The search process includes advertising campaigns, articles and interviews in the media.
*Matnat Chaim assists the donor and the recipient on the long road to a successful kidney transplant, which takes an average of four months. The organization helps with medical and bureaucratic issues and provides physical and mental support during the process.
