Vehadarta

Vehadarta’s mission is to revise Israeli society’s perception of the older population. It advocates positioning senior citizens as central and respected figures in social and economic action and creates and implements programs to affect this goal. “Experience Required”, Vehadarta’s flag program, aims to build the needed infrastructure and provide the service which will increase opportunities for job seekers aged 60 and above to find appropriate jobs with adequate financial and psychological rewards. Experience Required has two components: Older Adult job seeker assistance which includes a user-friendly Internet portal specifically designed for easy access by older adults, as well as project staff available to assist older adult job seekers through every step of the process. Development of employment opportunities for older adults through outreach to potential employers: identifying potential employers, influencing attitudes towards employment of older adults, and defining specific areas and niches best suited for older adults. Vehadarta has established a committee of human resource directors for some major Israeli to strategize an approach to a greater number of companies to actively seek senior workers.
