Every Friday we hold adoption days between 12:30-15:30 in the center of Jerusalem, in the Black Horse Park on the corner of King George and Hillel St.
Jerusalem Loves Animals offers the public to become a foster family. We focus on transferring pups and kitties to foster families until a permanent adopting home is found. Fostering exposes the animal to life in a home and enables him to socialize with the surroundings. A foster home enables JLA to get to know the animal, monitor his health and behavior and thus befit him with the best adopting home. Economically, maintaining a foster home is much less expensive than putting the dog in a kennel! We will cover all costs (food and veterinary treatment) and all you need to do is bring the dog or arrange for the dog to be brought to our weekly adoption days.
Volunteering to be a foster family also enables you to clarify to yourself whether you are ready to take on raising a dog/cat permanently. We often hear “I feel bad leaving the dog alone all day at home”, but it’s much better to be left at home alone than to be in a cage at the city pound!
