We are an action group comprising of inhabitants of Arad and near by settlements. We act against the erection of a phospfate mine in the Arad Valey, especially at Sde-Barir. The mine, that Rotem-Amfert Negev (of the Ofer Brothers group) wishes to erect in the Arad Valey will endanger the health and life of 50,000 people who live here. The mine will ruin sites of nature, vistas and heritage, all of prime value. the mine will undermine the development of emerging hiking and tourism industry. The mine will cause cleantec indistries operating in clean spaces, and employing hundreds of workers to shut down and leave. The mine will not add jobs as workers will just be relocted from other mines.
