Throughout the years, Palhan Zanhanim was the spearhead of Israel's fight for existence. From being the very first to cross the Suez Channel at the Yom-Kipur war, through leading the IDF and Paratroopers Brigade in the first Lebanon war and to courageous special operations throughout the 2000s, the unit's soldiers and commanders were the first to respond to the call of duty. In 2012, a group of the unit's veterans established the Friends of Palhan 35 Association (non-profit). The activity of the organization is managed and conducted voluntarily by former members of the unit, contributing their time, energy, and funds to the various causes. The goal of the Friends of Palhan 35 is to constitute a supportive entity to the unit by improving the unit's facilities, assisting the unit's commanders in supporting soldiers in need, and assist the combat soldiers in transitioning into civil life through a unique mentoring educational project.
