I was recently contacted by a veterinarian who had heard about a neglected horse named Fighter. When we reached Fighter she was so malnourished that she was unable to stand or lift her head and the vet wanted to put her down. I was able to provide the necessary treatments to rehabilitate Fighter and she improved significantly. It was wonderful to see her standing, eating and responding to care and warmth. But last week her condition worsened again. As I do not have the funds to purchase a car which can drive on mountainous terrain, I had to borrow one. It took two days until I was able to obtain one and so by the time we reached Fighter was in a very bad way. She clung to life for the rest of the night but by morning we had lost her.
