El Hayam was founded in 2019 by Jack Ben-On when he formed a team of veteran active volunteers
From Kiryat Haim when he has a shared vision with the same residents.
A little about Jack ....
Jack was born in 1973 in Israel
At the age of 14 his parents came down to the country but
When he reached the age of 18, it was clear to him that he was purchasing a plane ticket and enlisting in the IDF out of his love for the homeland and the Zionist education he received and returned to Israel.
Jack served as a fighter in the Golani Unit 13th Battalion in his military service was as a lone soldier a vision and dream come true and at the same time Jack spent time at sea and slowly realized that the sea was his destiny.
And so the vision was created ...... work to help and heal people through sports activities at sea ..
Over the years, Jack has developed unique working and training methods and in his own special way began distributing them
While studying for a certification at Wingit College in the field of instruction in water sports.
The need to establish an association stemmed from the understanding that there are many groups in the population that Dan does not have the means to purchase equipment and pay for learning and training. For example: lone soldiers, welfare children, at-risk youth and the elderly.
And so in collaboration with his wife Esther and good friends who came together to help the association was established.
With its establishment, a warm and close relationship was established with various factors in the Haifa municipality, with the goal of establishing a warm home for all those populations on the beach. Indeed, these days the association is working to establish a Sunday center of its kind in Kiryat Haim.
The goals of the association
With an emphasis on operational goals for 2021
• Establishment of a maritime center under the auspices and cooperation of the Haifa Municipality.
• Cooperation with the welfare authorities with the goal of integrating the youth promotion department in Kiryat Haim into water sports activities. Their participation in the association's activities will reveal the same values of volunteering and giving. In addition, research has shown that teenagers who participate in water sports activities receive high-level social and value values in return. Their personal security is strengthened and a large part of them acquire skills and even a profession for the rest of their lives.

• Accessibility for the disabled
• Assimilation of environmental values among different and diverse populations
• Providing a socially supportive and value-based environment for youth in the framework of leisure hours
• • Accessibility of the field of water sports to the residents of Kiryat Haim and Kiryat Shmuel, even if they are unable to pay as part of voluntary activities of members and supporters of the association.
• Voluntary activity for retirees - and for individual soldiers, in addition to welfare and the promotion of youth.

For the benefit of this development, the cruiser Gil Cohen, who represents the State of Israel in Olympic competitions, was recruited to the organization.
