Orbit 1690 Robotics Team the FRC Israeli Champion Team for 2022, and the winners of the prestigious International Chezy Champs competition in California.
First Robotics Competition (FRC) is a U.S. non-profit organization with the mission of inspiring young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills. Today there are more than 6000 teams participating in FRC.
Orbit 1690 has been operating since 2005. The team consists of around 40 high school students.
Each year, the team plans, builds and operates a new robot that competes in the worlds championships.
The Team is currently ranked No. 3 in the world by the ELO, (see: http://www.statbotics.io/teams).
The cost of operating the Team is NIS 500,000 per year. This budget covers registration, purchase of equipment, purchase of materials needed to build the robot, costs relating to travel and participation in international competition events.
In order to fund these costs, the students take upon themselves many responsibilities, such as: youth work, robotic presentations for children's birthdays, mentoring younger students, etc.
However, unfortunately, all of the above is insufficient to attain the entire funding amount needed to operate the team and allow it to compete at the highest levels. Nevertheless, our team has successfully managed to develop and enhance its skill level from year-to-year, and score world-class achievements – with the support of our generous sponsors that helped us break every ceiling and compete evenly with the world's best.
We hope you will join our sponsors and support us this year.
Your contribution will help grow the next generation of engineers that will make Israel and the world a better place to live in.
