Micha Haifa & the North Treats, educates and rehabilitates deaf & hearing impaired infants & young children(0-6). It operates out of 2 centers, in Haifa and Tiberius. Our mission is to give the child the communication tools he needs to integrate in the mainstream school system and the hearing society. Micha is staffed by professionals from the disciplines of teaching, audiology, psychology, social work and a range of relevant treatment therapies.Infrastructure includes: fully equipped audiology laboratory, 5 nursery schools and 3 daycares, snoezelen rooms and an auditorium. We provide services for a 100 children north of Hadera. We accept any hearing impaired child in our area, Jews, Christians and Muslims. Early treatment of children with their parents is important for the language, hearing and speech abilities and advances the child's cognitive, emotional and social development. The parents have a vital role and are coached on on their part and get counseling and support.
