About

The Shabtai Levi Home Emergency Center and Mothers' Unit The Shabtai Levi Home offers a range of services for young children, and their parents, as follows: 1. Emergency center – Operated for intern children aged 2 to 7 years. The center provides protection, diagnosis and treatment for children at risk and their parents. The children stay in this center for a short period of time. The treatment is aimed to an effort to return the child to his biological home or to his extended family. When the treatment ends, and only if it is impossible for him to return to his home, the option of a foster family is considered. 2. The unit for Child wellbeing - An emergency center which is external, giving treatment for babies and at risk young children and their families, who live in their own homes. This unit has 2 branches – one in Pardess-Hanna and the second in Carmiel. 3. Mothers' unit – an intern unit where mothers and their children get treatment. This unit offers the mothers and their children an opportunity –as they are at risk of being separated. The Home has set as target to prevent the separation of children from their mothers. At the Home they get training, support and treatment, 24 hours a day, for a period of 14 months, with an option to prolong it if necessary. When this process ends, the mothers return with their children to independent living within the community, accompanied by the Authority responsible for taking care of them. In case this option is impossible, other options will be checked for the children. The team that takes care of the mothers and children 24/7, consists of professionals in education, medicine and allied health professionals.
