Serving as Israel's National Food Bank, Leket Israel actively works to alleviate nutritional insecurity through its many food rescue and redistribution initiatives. Food is reclaimed from hundreds of suppliers, reaching 140,000 people each week.

Every year in Israel, millions of pounds of excess quality prepared and perishable food are thrown away. Leket Israel was founded in January 2003 to harvest this food immediately, safely and efficiently for soup kitchens and other emergency food programs throughout Israel. We aim to raise community awareness about the magnitude of the problem of hunger and the extent of food wastage within Israel. We cooperate with like-minded organizations to avoid duplicating pre-existing services.
