The Haifa Foundation is a public, not for profit charitable organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of the residents of Haifa, Israel’s third largest city. Haifa is well known for the unique harmony and understanding that exists between its citizens. Long-time residents live among new immigrants from the former Soviet Union, Ethiopia and other countries. Jews, Christians, Muslims, Druze, Baha’is and other share the city with respect for each other. We encourage this peaceful co-existence which is a model for the rest of the country and the entire world. We support all sectors as we seek to advance educational, cultural, shared living, community and environmental projects throughout the city by securing designated funds for a wide variety of programs and capital projects focusing on the areas of Youth & Education, Community Services, Immigrant Absorption, Culture & Sport, Arab-Jewish Coexistence, Urban Renewal and Beautification. In existence since 1983, we have created playgrounds, renovated school science labs, supported programs to bring Arabs and Jews together, provided support to new immigrants from Ethiopia and the former Soviet Union, supplied libraries built a hostel for holocaust survivors and more all with the help of friends from around the world.
Our Achievements
In the years since we have begun to create and support projects throughout the city in a wide variety of areas we have made a significant difference in the lives of the residents of the city. Our achievements include projects in Youth & Education, Community Services, Immigrant Absorption, Culture & Sport, Arab-Jewish Coexistence, and Urban Renewal and Beautification. We are proud to share some of our accomplishments with you.
